Autistic pride day is celebrated globally. It celebrates the neurodiversity for people on the autism spectrum.
The aim of the day is to remove the stigma of “disease” to “difference” and allow all individuals to normalise and accept the uniqueness of some.
In 2005 some organisations began to plan the World Autistic Pride day to spread awareness. It is ran by individuals that are on the autistic spectrum which gives them and advantage of understanding how autism is ‘different’ and that attributes/struggles that may come with it. But, more importantly how others can adapt to needs and any form of repetitiveness behaviour individuals may show.
