01.05.2024 – 07.05.2024
Sun awareness week is a national campaign for skin cancer. British Association of Dermatologists (BAD) aims to make you aware of skin cancer and encourages you to ensure you regularly check your skin whilst also looking after it.
Over exposure to the sun or UV rays can lead to serious damage and eventually can potentially cause skin cancers.
Tips for staying safe in the sun;
- Apply suncream regularly
- Cover up as much as possible such as thin t-shirts and hats
- Take regular breaks from the sun – find shade
- Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water
